Review Policy
Dear publishers, authors
I hope to give you an idea of what my own personal review guide is.
I am open to books being sent to me however there are some things you might want to consider before you spend pennies on the postage.
- I will only offer a true and honest review on my blog in respect to any book received in either paper or ebook format.
- I will not take payment for a positive review, this is a practice which I do not agree with as although I may not like the book I am reviewing there are equally as many who may have enjoyed it
- I would love to read and review books from authors I know and love as well as opening my mind to new book by new authors and genres not yet experienced.
- If a book has aspects of one of my favourite books or the author has a style similar to something I have read and enjoyed let me know
- I do not want to take part in blog tours, and will only post videos up of interviews with authors who I have read
- I am not keen on pressure so any book I do say ‘yes please’ to will be read when the mood takes me, the right book at the wrong time can be fatal. I also really don’t want emails asking when I am reading a book you sent me that I didn’t actually ask for. Nor will I read a book I really want to in return for one I don’t.
- I do have an e-reader and happy to accept books in this format however, if and when I return a review I would appreciate consideration for a free or a reduced price copy of the finalised file.
- I don't enjoy sporting books of any nature fact or fiction, get frustrated by long paragraphs of description leading to nowhere in the plot or those heading off obviously on a tangent for no reason!
- I am not a massive lover of middle grade books (at 40+) but am happy to read some YA as long as it is not contemporary instalove.
Basically I love reading and experiencing books since my childhood some of my go to genres include anything fictional/non fiction on WWII, I am fascinated with the steampunk genre, fantasy, sci fi and a good thriller or horror for those dark British nights.
If you think you have something that may be of interest please do not hesitate to contact me.
